Amarillo College, U.S. Labor Department Launch Safety Training Alliance
Three-year OSHA partnership to provide free safety training and hazard prevention education for students, workers, and employers in high-risk industries.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s OSHA has entered into a three-year alliance with Amarillo College to advance workplace safety education and hazard prevention training for students, workers, and employers.
The alliance agreement, signed June 26, 2025, aims to provide free safety training classes and continuing education on key occupational hazards — including falls, electrocution, struck-by incidents, and other risks common in construction, oil and gas, and general industry sectors.
Participants in the alliance will collaborate to deliver workshops, seminars, and lectures focused on hazard identification, injury prevention, and worker empowerment. The initiative also promotes engagement with OSHA’s cooperative programs, such as the Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) and on-site consultation services.
“We are excited to announce the formation of a new alliance with Amarillo College, focused on increasing safety awareness among students and workers,” said OSHA Area Director Elizabeth Linda Routh in Lubbock, Texas. “This alliance represents a commitment to provide essential training in hazard identification techniques, empowering individuals to recognize and minimize risks in their work environments.”
The alliance is part of OSHA’s Alliance Program, which fosters partnerships with organizations that share a commitment to improving workplace safety and health. These include labor unions, trade associations, educational institutions, community groups, and government agencies.
Through the program, OSHA and its partners offer resources, training, and technical guidance to help workers understand their rights and help employers uphold their responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
