The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS), in partnership with Casper College, will host the second annual OSHA Roadshow on May 20-21 at the Wold Physical Science Center in Casper.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the OSHA Roadshow offers two full days of hands-on safety training and workforce development resources aimed at construction and trades professionals across the state.
“In 2023, the United States recorded 5,283 fatal workplace injuries,” said Christian Graham, OSHA program manager at DWS. “The construction sector alone accounted for 1,075 of those deaths—many of them preventable. This Roadshow is our way of helping Wyoming workers and employers change that trend by promoting a culture of safety.”
Focused on Preventing the “Fatal Four”
The event will spotlight the construction industry’s most dangerous hazards—falls, struck-by-object incidents, electrocutions, and caught-in/between accidents. Collectively known as the “Fatal Four,” these risks are responsible for nearly 60% of construction-related fatalities nationwide.
Attendees can expect:
- Practical safety training led by industry experts
- Live demonstrations on fall protection, rescue systems, and PPE
- Certificates of completion to strengthen workplace credentials
- Sponsored lunch with safety briefings and workforce program overviews
- Access to representatives from Workers’ Compensation, Apprenticeships, and Grant Programs
- Networking opportunities with safety professionals and peers from across Wyoming
Workforce development resources, including information on internships, training programs, apprenticeships, and funding opportunities, will also be available to employers and employees.
