ASSP Safety 2024: A Glimpse into the Concurrent Sessions

Every year, the ASSP offers a wide variety of educational opportunities tailored specifically for safety professionals.

The American Society of Safety Professionals’ (ASSP) Safety 2024 Professional Development Conference and Exposition is set to take place from August 7 to August 9 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. And the event promises a wealth of knowledge and networking opportunities for workplace safety and health professionals.

Among the highlights of this year’s conference are the concurrent sessions, which are designed to provide attendees with practical insights and innovative strategies to enhance safety in their organizations. Categorized by experience level, these sessions span several tracks, including Business & Leadership Skills, Risk Assessment & Management, Safety Management Systems and Total Worker Health.

One of the standout sessions was “Champion for Change: Safety Campaign Success Strategies,” an advanced-level session under the Business & Leadership Skills track. This session delved into effective strategies for driving successful safety campaigns within organizations. Another notable session was “Recent Changes to EPA's Risk Management Program Rule: What You Need to Know Now,” which falls under the Risk Assessment & Management track and was tailored for intermediate-level professionals.

For those interested in Total Worker Health, the session “Using Injury Claims Data to Improve Patient Handling & Implement Mobility Solutions” offered a fascinating look at how to categorize employee injury claims to identify trends and implement solutions. Additionally, the session “As Projects Get More Complex, Can Safety Keep Up?” will address the impact of project complexity and new technologies on fall protections.

These sessions, along with many others scheduled for the remainder of the event, aim to foster interactive learning and provide opportunities to connect. With over 200 educational sessions to choose from, ASSP Safety 2024 looks to equip guests with the tools and knowledge needed to advance their careers and improve workplace safety.
