DOL Advisory Board on Toxic Substances and Worker Health Meeting in Tennessee

The group meets virtually in Oak Ridge, Tennesse, from May 8 to 9, 2024.

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has announced that the Advisory Board on Toxic Substances and Worker Health for Part E of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act will hold an online meeting from May 8 to 9, 2024.

According to a recent release, the session will take place at Comfort Inn Oak Ridge at 433 S. Rutgers Ave. in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and is accessible to the public. The meeting is scheduled for May 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and May 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EDT.

Under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act, nuclear weapons workers diagnosed with medical conditions stemming from exposure to toxic substances at covered nuclear facilities are entitled to compensation and medical benefits. The board has 12 members appointed by the Secretary of Labor, including representatives from scientific, medical and claimant communities.

A public comment session will be held on May 8 from 4:15 to 5 p.m. EDT. Those interested in speaking during this session must send their requests to [email protected], citing the Advisory Board's name and the meeting date.
