Sitting at number seven on OSHA’s Top 10 Most Frequently Cited Standards list, Control of Hazardous Energy, or Lockout/Tagout, seems to be a standard to that businesses and employers have a tough time with. In fiscal year 2021, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration reported that there had been over 1,600 violations to this one standard at companies across the country that fall under Federal OSHA.

To help clear the air about what the standard required and how you can better create a lockout/tagout program that works best for your company, I called on an expert in the field.
