Top OH&S SafetyPod Episodes of 2021

OH&S SafetyPod released over 1,000 minutes of content over 60 podcast episodes in 2021.

This year, OH&S released over 1,000 minutes of content spanning over 60 podcasts episodes. That is a lot of content to consume, so if you are an OH&S SafetyPod listener who has been with us since the beginning—thank you! If you are new to the podcast, we’d love to take this opportunity to list our most popular episodes of 2021.

This list is a great indication of what topics safety professionals were most interested in getting to know more about this year. At the top of our list for most popular episodes are those that detailed how OSHA would be handling the new “vaccine mandate” handed down by the Biden Administration. Over the course of a month, OH&S SafetyPod released three episodes on OSHA’s Emergency Temporary Standard to protect workers against Covid-19. The first was released just days before the ETS was published and the second just 24 hours later. The third episode is a great explainer of where the ETS is now that it has been tied up in the court system. These three episodes are below.

Next on our list of popular episodes from this year is an episode that focused on the construction industry’s Fatal Four, a name commonly used to describe the four most deadly hazards in the industry. The episode describes each hazard and discusses why it is so important to protect, train and educate employees to ensure safe work.

Understanding the hazards associated with confined spaces was also a very popular topic in 2021, according to our podcast downloads. We released two episodes on confined spaces, the first diving into how training and education on confined spaces can increase worker protections and the second on how to find a rescue team that works best for your confined space. Each of these episodes were well received and serve as a reminder that workers must be adequately prepared to enter a confined space.

Last but not least on our list is the very first episode we released in 2021. It was a prediction episode outlining how the industry felt the Biden Administration would impact worker safety and health. Take a listen and let us know if these predictions came to be.

OH&S is so excited to continue our podcast episodes into 2022 and are looking to crowdsource ideas from our listeners! We’ve recently put together an email account dedicated just to receiving podcast suggestions from listeners like you. If you have a safety and health topic that you’d like for us to discuss on the podcast, email [email protected].
