OHS Live From Program Proves Successful Time and Time Again

OH&S Magazine has been doing the Live From program at the NSC show for years now, and every year, more companies in the safety industry want to be involved.

OH&S Magazine has been doing the Live From program at the NSC show for years now, and every year, more companies in the safety industry want to be involved. If you don’t already know, the Live From NSC program allows OH&S to use its social media platforms to advertise our sponsors, amp up traffic and attention about website and products, and get an inside scoop on what’s happening at NSC.

OH&S had three sponsors for NSC this year: Tingley Rubber, Avery Products, and Columbia Southern University. For the two weeks before, the week of, and two weeks after NSC, OH&S posts content for each sponsor on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Content includes anything from new products to upcoming events to alumni testimonials to OSHA announcements.

The program has a three-fold purpose: to tell thousands of followers what is happening in live time on the NSC expo floor, to bring more traffic and clicks to sponsor websites and products, and to put the OH&S brand out there and show people what we do as a publication. This year, the NSC Live From program reached all its goals with flying colors.

While a lot of the grunt work for Live From involved planning, organizing, and scheduling content for our sponsors on the media platforms, time at the show was spent making trips to booths and helping viewers get to know the OH&S sponsors. As Associate Content Editor and runner of the Live From program for NSC, I visited booths, brainstormed with sponsors, and ultimately helped viewers at home (and even at the event) keep up on the happenings of the show. The Live From channels even touched on info sessions at the Expo like a presentation on the 2019 Top 10 OSHA violations.

Social media is often trivialized in our society, but the Live From program through OH&S really proves how effective and personal channels like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn can be. A construction worker can see our NSC tweet during his water break in Chicago; an electrical engineer can read watch our video during her lunch hour in Austin. Workers from all across the country are given a chance to be in San Diego with the OH&S team, on the show floor, with thousands of other safety individuals. Here are a few example tweets from the show!

The 2019 NSC Live From program is still up and running, and OH&S will continue to honor our sponsors for the next few weeks. The program has proven a wonderful opportunity for OH&S to build relationships with industry companies and meet warm faces working toward a safer world. Follow along for everything Live From and NSC at www.ohsonline.com/live!
