Cal/OSHA Reminds Employers to Post 2018 Injury and Illness Summaries
Summaries of work-related injuries and illnesses must be posted each year from February 1 through April 30, even if no workplace injuries occurred during the prior year.
Cal/OSHA posted a reminder Feb. 1 telling employers in California they are required to post their 2018 annual summaries of work-related injuries and illnesses. The summaries must be posted each year from February 1 through April 30, even if no workplace injuries occurred during the prior year.
The same requirement applies where federal OSHA has jurisdiction -- covered employers are to post their 300A summary starting Feb. 1.
Instructions and form templates can be downloaded for free from Cal/OSHA's Record Keeping Overview, which gives instructions on completing both the log (Form 300) and the annual summary (Form 300A) of work-related injuries and illnesses. The annual summary must be placed in a visible and easily accessible area at each work site, and both current and former employees, as well as employee representatives, must be allowed to review the summary in its entirety.
