DEA 2019 Video Challenge Under Way

High school students can submit an original 30-60 second public service announcement about the dangers of prescription opioid misuse for a chance to win the $10,000 first prize.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's 2019 Operation Prevention Video Challenge has begun accepting entries.

"Prescription opioid misuse and heroin use have reached epidemic levels," the challenge's homepage states. "But you can change that. High school students have the power to send a message to their peers about the dangers of prescription opioid misuse by creating a 30-60 second original Public Service Announcement. Grab your camera, recruit your friends, and submit your video for a chance to win $10,000 and other great prizes. Help lead the change in schools!

The entry deadline is March 6, 2019.

The DEA Educational Foundation is providing the first, second, and third plate prizes:

  • 1st Place: $10,000
  • 2nd Place: $5,000
  • 3rd Place: $1,000

The People's Choice prize, provided by the DEA, is a trip to Quantico, Va., for an exclusive tour of DEA training.
