Live From ASSE Day 1

DuPont’s booth features new products from both the Tyvek and Nomex brands.

DENVER -- DuPont's Nomex® FR fiber continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary at ASSE 2017 this week, with the fiber getting a prominent position in the DuPont Protection Solutions booth, #1130. Nomex® is an inherently heat- and flame-resistant fiber used to protect millions of workers across the world. More than three million firefighters worldwide are protected using gear that is made of Nomex®.

Also at the DuPont Protection Solutions booth, Tyvek is debuting its Tychem® 2000 SFR protective coveralls, which provide chemical and secondary flame protection in a lightweight garment. The coveralls provide an effective barrier against acids as well as industrial cleaning chemicals and particles.

On top of the chemical protection, the Tychem® 2000 also provides secondary flame resistance when worn over primary FR garments—such as the ones made using the Nomex® fiber.

Some industries that would ideal for this new suit include: refineries, petrochemical plants, laboratories, and hazardous maintenance operations.

Meanwhile, Bradley Corp. is showing off its new Heat Trace Showers with Halo technology at booth #825. The showers are engineered to ensure water doesn't freeze in the fixture, allowing for protection in extreme, frigid environments.

Coinciding with the release of the new showers, Bradley is also offering a free safety shower & eyewash site survey in order to comply with the ANSI/ISEA Z358.1 guidelines.

A short day 1 of ASSE 2017 is in the books, but stay tuned for much more over the next couple of days.
