John Henshaw Elected as AIHAF Member-at-Large Trustee

"AIHF donors have been very generous in the past and my personal goal, as a member of the Board of Trustees, is to assure we continue to secure contributions, fulfill the expectation of our donors, and create the greatest positive impact possible in our profession," said Henshaw, a former AIHA president and OSHA assistant secretary.

AIHA announced that the American Industrial Hygiene Foundation's Board of Trustees has selected John L. Henshaw, CIH, as the Member-at-Large Trustee for the 2017 term. Henshaw is senior vice president and managing principal--industrial hygiene and safety for Cardno ChemRisk. He served as AIHA president in 1990-1991 and was the OSHA assistant secretary from 2001-2004. He has a B.S. degree from Appalachian State University and an MPH degree from Michigan State University's School of Public Health.

"Our ability to positively impact occupational health around the world is in-part contingent upon our ability to attract and retain top environmental health students. The AIHF, through its trustees, plays a critical role in assuring the Foundation lives up to its mission. AIHF donors have been very generous in the past and my personal goal, as a member of the Board of Trustees, is to assure we continue to secure contributions, fulfill the expectation of our donors, and create the greatest positive impact possible in our profession," he said.

"We are thrilled that John Henshaw will be serving as an AIHF Trustee. This is another wonderful example of John's commitment to the future of the profession," said AIHA Board President Steven Lacey, Ph.D., CIH, CSP.

The foundation works to advance the IH profession by awarding scholarships to students studying industrial hygiene and related disciplines. Since 1982, it has distributed more than $1.8 million in scholarships. For more information, contact Laurie Mutdosch, AIHF manager, at [email protected].
