HVAC Group Seeks 'Safety Masters'

The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), a nationwide association of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration contractors, is accepting submissions for its "Safety Masters Club" recognition program until May 9. The program recognizes ACCA contractors who have made a significant impact on workplace safety by implementing programs that produce results, the group says, adding it is an opportunity for contractors to demonstrate to their employees, customers, and community that they have an outstanding commitment to safety in the workplace.

Contractors with the best safety record in their size category will also be presented with the ACCA Safety Award of Merit. Any ACCA contractor member can apply for recognition in the appropriate category based on company size (in man hours): 0 to 15,000 hours; 15,001 to 40,000 hours; 40,001 to 100,000 hours; 100,001 to 200,000 hours; and 200,001-plus hours.

Applications for the Safety Masters Club are open only once a year, and are being accepted until May 9 for activities in the 2007 calendar year.
