'CareerAdvantage' Aims to Build Up IH Employment Status
The American Industrial Hygiene Association® (AIHA) is, as we speak, conducting the final day of its 2010 CareerAdvantage Development Fair here in Denver at the American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition. The event, which began Monday, continues only until 4 p.m. local time today.
Sponsored by the AIHA Career and Employment Services Committee, the development fair features sessions designed to help those in the occupational and environmental health and safety field advance their current careers and find and maintain positions in the industry. For example, today from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. a session on résumé critiquing is taking place. Attendees are encouraged to bring their current résumé and have it looked at by an experienced hiring manager for feedback on its style, length, focus, use of accomplishments, use of keywords, and more. The fair also provides an opportunity for employers and OEHS professionals to mingle and make important contacts. This year's theme is "Building Careers for Life."
The development fair offers employers and recruiters the tools to find ideal candidates to fill valuable positions. Through the CareerAdvantage Development Fair Package, those searching for qualified personnel can:
- Access hundreds of industrial hygiene and environmental health and safety résumés
- Post up to three job listings on the main CareerAdvantage website until June 30, 2010
- Select candidates before attending the development fair in Denver for on-site interviews
- Network with OEHS professionals and other recruiters
Job seekers receive career counseling, free résumé postings, access to job listings, on-site interviewing, and networking.
