Unique Hazmat Suits Stand Out on Expo Floor
One of the more startling experiences we have had here on this third day of the 2009 NSC Congress & Expo in Orlando involved walking the Expo floor with our nose buried in the conference program and suddenly looking up to find ourself squarely facing what appeared to be a man in a space suit with a head that was way, way too large. We have Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics to thank for that experience.
The Merrimack, N.H.-based company, a subsidiary of the France-based Saint Gobain Corp., brought along a whole oversized closetful of items from its ONESuit® line of protective single-skin hazmat suits to feature at its Expo booth, #3215. However weird they might look if you’re not expecting to bump into one of them, all ONESuit products are certified to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1991 standard for protection against the most dangerous chemical and biological agents.
As the company representatives will tell you, even if you’ve dropped your program and almost knocked down their impressive display, the single-skin design of their ONESuit products allows for maneuverability and user comfort. The protective gear also offers flame-resistance and extended shelf life, and it is compactable for convenient, space-saving storage. According to the company, the suits are now being stocked by a wide variety of users, including industrial companies, fire departments, and U.S. military units and government agencies charged with protecting public safety.
If you’re not here to behold, much less bump into, the products and would like to at least glimpse them, you can see them online at www.onesuittec.com.
