Falls in Construction: What do we know and what can you do?
Falls continue to be a leading source of injuries and deaths among construction workers. Join us to learn more about recent data trends and resources addressing falls in construction.
William Harris, Research Analyst CPWR’s Data Center, will begin with a review of recent fall injury data trends among construction workers. Rosa Greenberg, Research Analyst with CPWR’s Research to Practice program, will then review the OSHA-NIOSH-CPWR Falls Campaign and available resources to prevent falls, including new resources such as a Guide to Selecting Head Protection and a Leading-Edge Tipsheet.

William Harris, MS is a Research Analyst in the Data Center at CPWR – The Center for Construction Research and Training where he has worked for almost four years. Mr. Harris has his master’s in demography from Florida State University. Since joining CPWR in 2021, Mr. Harris has led several fall-related analyses and is the lead author on CPWR’s March 2024 Data Bulletin “Fatal and Nonfatal Falls in the U.S. Construction Industry, 2011-2022”. William’s personal experience and familial ties to the construction industry are what drive his interest in continuing to improve safety and health outcomes for all workers in the industry.
Rosa Greenberg, MPH is a Research Analyst in the Research to Practice (r2p) Program at CPWR - The Center for Construction Research and Training. Her work focuses on falls, and she develops occupational safety translational products and performs evaluation for the OSHA-NIOSH-CPWR Falls Campaign. She holds a Master’s in Public Health from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
