Construction Safety: Revisiting the Fundamentals for Fall Protection in Construction
Over the last thirty years, we have implemented new regulations and have developed ANSI standards addressing work at height activity yet falls continue to be the second leading cause of fatal occupational injuries in Construction. The number of these fatal incidents and the severity of non-fatal fall injuries continues to increase.
In this webinar, we will discuss some the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicators and what they may be telling us. We will revisit some fundamental behaviors and choices that may be limiting our ability to make progress toward improving these outcomes. We will also discuss practical approaches which may be leveraged to implement more successful fall protection programs.
Speaker:
Dan Henn is the Safety Operations Manager for LJB’s product branch. Prior to joining LJB, Dan worked for multiple fall protection equipment manufacturers as an operations and product development executive.
Dan also serves as the Chairman for the ANSI/ASSP Z359 committee, is the primary author of the current Z359.14 Standard for self-retracting devices and has contributed to the development of multiple Z359 standards.
