Facilities Services and Public Works

Facilities Services and Public Works are a classification of employees that are the protectors of similar works environments be it on your city, university campus and/or private buildings. They may be called by different names but share the same hazards at their workplaces.  Facilities Services/Public Works are our forgotten First Responders, first in and last out, and on any given day they can be exposed to 50 different types of hazards or potential exposures.

Occupational health and safety programs are vital to preventing injuries, illnesses, and deaths due to possible unsafe working conditions. Safety programs must be designed to protect employees from potential risks through the process of hazard and risk assessments, corrective actions, planning, communication, and performance-based training.

Remember all Activities have associated Hazards that need to be Evaluated to see if the proper Safeguards are in place. If not, additional Safeguards must be put in place before work activities start. Join us on August 24 to share and expand our Facility Services/Public Works safety consciousness.
