The 4th regional basic training course on Assistance and Protection against Chemical Weapons benefited 35 participants from various agencies involved in chemical emergency response and civil defense from Algeria, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, and United Arab Emirates.
“Knowing where potential cooking hazards exist and taking basic precautions to prevent them can go a long way toward ensuring a fire-safe holiday,” said Lorraine Carli, NFPA’s vice president of Outreach and Advocacy.
OSHA cited the company for a lack of machine guarding on several pieces of equipment, for failing to implement a program to inspect mechanical power presses and correct unsafe conditions, and for failing to develop specific procedures to verify hazardous energy was controlled.

The report, "Suicide Rates by Major Occupational Group — 17 States, 2012 and 2015," examined the lifetime occupations of 22,053 between the ages of 16-64 who died by suicide in the 17 states participating in the National Violent Death Reporting System in 2012 and 2015.

One of the revised standards covers test methods for foot protection (F2412). The others are specifications for performance requirements for both safety toe cap footwear (F2413) and soft-toe (non-safety) protective footwear (F2892).
"I've been considering the re-entry recommendations, risk assessments, and information provided by the Pike River Recovery Agency, along with input from independent advisor Rob Fyfe. The re-entry method I have approved is the simplest and safest plan," Minister Andrew Little said Nov. 14.
