DOL Names New Members to National Advisory Committee on OSH

The four appointees will serve two-year terms starting in January 2025.

The U.S. Department of Labor has announced four new appointments to the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH). This 12-member committee provides guidance to the Secretary of Labor and Secretary of Health and Human Services on administering the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

According to a recent release, the new members—who represent diverse interests in public safety, management, labor and occupational safety professionals—will begin their two-year terms on January 16, 2025.

The appointees are:

  • John Stephen Frost, representing the public, from the University of South Florida OSHA Training Institute Education Center.
  • Kirk Sander, representing management, from the National Waste & Recycling Association.
  • Rebecca Reindel, representing labor, from the AFL-CIO.
  • Sarah Williams Ischer, representing occupational safety professionals, from the National Safety Council.

In its advisory role, NACOSH supports federal efforts to improve workplace safety and health standards. The committee includes members representing public, employer, labor and professional perspectives, ensuring a broad range of expertise and input.
