VPPPA Brings Safety+ Symposium to Colorado for Its 40th Year

VPPPA’s annual event in Aurora, Colorado, aims to enhance safety practices across industries.

The 40th edition of the Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association (VPPPA) Safety+ Symposium is set to take place from August 25 to August 28, 2024, at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado. This long-standing event continues its mission to equip safety professionals at all levels with the tools and knowledge needed to foster safer workplaces across industries.

“Continuous improvement is at the core of every decision we make,” the VPPPA website for the event reads. “While we know perfection will always remain just out of reach, that doesn’t mean we’ll stop striving for excellence. We’ve had 39 opportunities to improve our event and make it better than it has ever been before, and we can’t wait to show you just how far we’ve come.”

The Safety+ Symposium has grown significantly since its inception in 1984, when just 45 participants gathered in Washington, DC, under OSHA. Over the years, the event has expanded to attract nearly 70,000 attendees in total, all sharing a common goal: continuous improvement in occupational safety and health. The 2024 symposium is expected to build on with a range of workshops, sessions and networking opportunities.

Key features include a series of deep dive sessions on Sunday, August 25, and a grand opening of the exhibit hall. Workshops will cover topics designed to address safety challenges, and the event also includes a golf tournament, a fun run/walk and an awards reception. Other highlights include a keynote lunch on Wednesday, August 28, followed by a closing reception and a Colorado Rockies baseball game.
