Oberon to Offer NFPA 70E Webinars
In an effort to help electrical safety managers and other affected workers understand and comply with the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, arc flash fabric, apparel, and faceshield manufacturer Oberon (New Bedford, Mass.) is offering a one-hour webinar on three separate dates:
- Jan. 27, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
- Feb. 10, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Feb. 24, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The online events, geared for managers, contractors, and executives in the electrical industry as well as EH&S and human resources personnel responsible for employee safety programs, will cover the four major principles of NFPA 70E, simplifying the industry jargon to explain when the standard is needed, who needs to comply with it, and why.
Oberon, which is also known for developing arc flash test methods used in the industry, notes that NFPA 70E requires employers to implement an electrical safety program to protect the thousands of workers who die every year from on-the-job electrical injuries. The company adds that failure to implement the standard can result in huge costs to an employer from litigation, medical, rehabilitation, and retraining costs resulting from an accident, in addition to the cost of OSHA penalties.
