New Board Members to be Inducted at AIHA Annual Business Meeting

In late March, the American Industrial Hygiene Association announced the results of its 2008 election for the AIHA Board of Directors. The new board members will be inducted into their new office at AIHA's annual business meeting tomorrow at AIHce 2008.

This meeting will also mark the beginning of the terms of Lindsay E. Booher, CIH, CSP, as president; Cathy L. Cole, CIH, CSP, as president-elect; Donald J. Hart, Ph.D., CIH, as past president; and Allan K. Fleeger, CIH, CSP, as treasurer. Elizabeth L. Pullen, CIH, will continue her term as secretary.

The results of the AIHA election are as follows:

    Michael T. Brandt, DrPH, CIH, PMP, was elected AIHA's new vice president. Brandt has served as a member of the AIHA Board of Directors since 2001. He has been a member of AIHA since 1979 and serves as technical chief of staff for operations at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
  • Cynthia A. Ostrowski, CIH, was elected AIHA's secretary-elect. Ostrowski served as a member of the AIHA Board of Directors from 2004–2007. She has been a member of AIHA since 1989 and is an independent industrial hygiene consultant for CAO Consulting LLC.
  • Cindy A. Coe, CIH, was elected to the AIHA Board of Directors. She has been a member of AIHA since 1981 and serves as the southeastern regional administrator for OSHA.
  • Barbara J. Dawson, CIH, was elected to the AIHA Board of Directors. She has been a member of AIHA since 1982 and serves as the global occupational health competency leader for the DuPont Company.
  • Steven E. Lacey, Ph.D., CIH, CSP, was elected to the AIHA Board of Directors. He has been a member of AIHA since 2003 and serves as assistant research professor for the University of Illinois at Chicago.

AIHA's remaining board members for 2008–2009 include: Daniel H. Anna, CIH, CSP; Ellen P. Clas, MS, CIH, CSP; Kevin G. Gara, CIH; Christopher D. Jones, MS, CIH; Zandra M. Walton, CIH; and Shelley R. Wheeling-Park, MPH, CHMM, CSP, CIH.
