University of Washington Continuum College Launches Coding Boot Camp

A new coding boot camp from the University of Washington Continuum College is launching this July to provide working professionals with web development skills. The 24-week program covers coding, algorithms and data structure, as well as training in JavaScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS, jQuery, Java and more.

The university partnered with Trilogy Education to create the boot camp, which consists of two three-hour evening classes and one four-hour Saturday class per week, plus 20 hours per week of outside projects, homework and experiential learning activities. Students will also build a project portfolio to showcase their skills. In addition, the program offers career-planning services, portfolio reviews, recruiting assistance and other support.

Those who complete the program will receive a Certificate in Full-Stack Web Development from UW Professional & Continuing Education.

"The inaugural UW Coding Boot Camp will equip working professionals here in Seattle with the skills to pursue rewarding tech careers. This innovative, full-stack program is ideal for motivated individuals looking for a new career challenge or advancement in their current job," commented Rovy Branon, vice provost at University of Washington Continuum College, in a statement.
