What Now? How to Provide Safe, OSHA-Compliant Workspaces in the Age of COVID-19
Businesses across the United States are trying to figure out how to move forward with providing OSHA-compliant workplaces in this COVID-19 “new normal” set of circumstances. A dynamic new set of market forces require us to act. Businesses and organizations want to work in a way that minimizes COVID-19 risk, minimize the potential for more business interruptions and delays, and provide for a safe workplace now and in the future.
Information that affects planning changes frequently, and regulations are not always clear. We must rethink our processes (“safety” and otherwise) and plan for new ones, due to changes in risk factors, product demand, the supply chain, worker safety, and worker satisfaction and retention issues. Still, OSHA expects employers to provide a safe place to work. What does that mean now?
- Review what it means to be safe when starting or re-starting operations in the COVID-19 environment.
- Review considerations for minimizing business interruptions while impacted during the pandemic.
- Learn factors and considerations for providing a safe workplace under our “new normal” conditions and going forward.
- At the end of the presentation, attendees will be provided with a text code to receive a free, downloadable Safety Assessment.

Greg Zigulis has 35 years of Safety, Health and Environmental experience and has worked in several industries, to include as an officer in the United States Air Force and in support roles for services to the Department of Energy, as well as for automotive supply manufacturing, metals, plastics, construction, disaster restoration, hazardous waste remediation and mining. He is certified by professional certification bodies as both a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a Certified Industrial Hygienist. He is also a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP). He started his own consulting company in 2015 and has been providing comprehensive HSE support to a variety of companies since then.
Greg has a passion for the “systems” approach to safety and environmental management and believes that organizations should not fix problems in one area only to find they create problems in other areas, or that they have taken away from the overall business mission. In support of that, he is a certified ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems auditor, as well as a certified ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) auditor. Most particularly though, he is an active (volunteer) member of the ANSI/ASSP Z10 Committee on Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, which published a revised ANSI Standard in 2019.
