Mark Lachat, Information Technology Automated Solution (ITAS) Project Manager, EHS
Mark is an IT Project Manager and has been with Alcoa for 25 Years. The past 9 years he has been working in the EHS area with Sphera Solutions’ Essential Suite and is the primary support at Alcoa for all Corporate EHS applications. In Essential Suite, he has implemented the Incident Module (that includes Health & Safety, Environmental, Risk Notification and Security Incidents). He has implemented the Industrial Hygiene Module which incorporates several process requirements into customizations.
John Rind, EHS System Manager
EHS Governance COE, Alcoa Corporation
John Rind is the EHS Systems Manager within the Governance Center of Excellence, of the Alcoa Corporate EHS Group. He is responsible for the functional design, development and implementation of Alcoa EHS Information Systems. Prior to his current role, John had roles in EHS Engineering Support, Alcoa’s ISO 14001 Certification program, EHS Integration of Howmet, IVEX, SAPA, and Alcoa Fastening Systems.
John joined Alcoa in 1990 in Alcoa Technical Center’s Environmental Technology Laboratory, responsible for sampling and evaluation of Alcoa’s plant emissions and effluents. In the late 1990s, John worked as the Environmental Control Officer for ATC, managing the environmental aspects of development projects and assisting with transfer of the technology to locations. In 2001, John joined the Alcoa EHS Services Group located in the Alcoa Corporate Center, and supported the Corporate and BU implementation of EHS Management Systems and Water Management technologies.
John completed his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
