Aubrey C. Daniels, Ph.D., a renowned expert on worker behavior and culture, recently published his fifth book, OOPS! 13 Management Practices that Waste Time and Money (and what to do instead). In it, he highlights typical actions by managers that undercut their goals and limit their success.
Daniels founded Aubrey Daniels International in 1978. It helps clients in numerous industries achieve and sustain consistently high levels of performance, building profitable habits within their organizations. Daniels' previous books, Bringing out the Best in People, Performance Management, Other People's Habits, and Measure of a Leader (with James E. Daniels), have been translated into Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and French and have been licensed in China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Romania, and Saudi Arabia.
He recently blogged about the mistakes of TV's top bosses (including Liz Lemon of 30 Rock and Ari Gold of Entourage) and how they stack up against the management errors detailed in the book, which can be purchased on his Web site.
In this OH&S podcast, he discusses why today’s most popular TV bosses are terrible examples of management.
