EU-OSHA Launching Dangerous Substances Campaign in 2018

The "Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances" campaign aims to raise awareness of dangerous substances and promote a prevention culture in workplaces across Europe.

EU-OSHA, the European Agency for Safety and Health At Work, is launching a new campaign in April 2018 -- the "Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances" campaign, and wants stakeholders to get ready to participate. The campaign is devoted to raising awareness of dangerous substances and promoting a prevention culture in workplaces across Europe.

The campaign stresses that eliminating or reducing worker exposures will protect them from fire, explosion, suffocation, and health problems such as skin diseases, allergies, respiratory illnesses, birth defects, and cancers.

EU-OSHA said it hope all of its campaign partners and stakeholders will support the campaign by publicizing campaign materials, organizing training courses and events, promoting the substitution principle and use of the hierarchy of controls, sharing good practices and risk prevention, becoming an official or national campaign partner or a campaign media partner, and taking part of European Weeks for Safety and Health at Work in October 2018 and 2019.
