OSHA, DOL Make Available Whistleblower Policy Change Documents
Following the Aug.3, 2007, signing by President Bush of The Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007, OSHA has recently posted to its Web site a new policy statement on Settlement Agreements Containing Future Employment Waiver Clauses at www.osha.gov/dep/oia/whistleblower/settlements_future_employment.html. Copies of the new policy, which was created to provide guidance on approving settlement agreements containing future employment waiver clauses in whistleblower cases, may also be accessed on DOL's Office of Administrative Law Judges (DOL-OALJ) Web site in HTML or PDF format.
Also, DOL-OALJ has made a Conference Report and a Overview of The Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007 available online.
Amongst other things, DOL says, the act creates a new whistleblower provision for public transportation employees, modifies the whistleblower provision covering railroad employees to place such complaints under DOL's jurisdiction, and significantly modifies the STAA whistleblower provision.
