Omaha Steaks Plant Gains an OSHA Star

Omaha Steaks International Inc.'s plant in Snyder, Nebraska, is now a Star site in OSHA's Voluntary Protection Programs, following a ceremony held at the plant. The plant employs 85 employees who process meat products.

"Omaha Steaks has exhibited excellence in safety and health management," said Charles E. Adkins, CIH, OSHA's regional administrator in Kansas City. "The company's outstanding efforts include management commitment to safety and health and employee involvement in safety and health programs."

VPP members achieve average injury rates 50 percent lower than other companies in their industry. More than 1,700 work sites are participants in the program.
