Presidential Hopefuls Lining Up for Live IAFF Forum Today

Today's Presidential Forum hosted by the International Association of Fire Fighters might be a hot ticket; IAFF says about 1,000 of its leaders and members will see it live in Washington, D.C. The rest of us can enjoy live blogging of the speeches at http://blog.aflcio.org/ or watch it on www.iaff.org via a time-delayed webcast.

Plenty of information about the IAFF's annual Legislative Conference is posted on the union's site, including articles covering speeches by Sen. Joe Lieberman, House Minority Leader John Boehner, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, and Rep. David Price, chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security.

The Presidential Forum starts the process of deciding IAFF's endorsement for the 2008 election. It begins at 8:30 a.m. Eastern with speakers appearing in this order (which is subject to change): John Edwards, former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore, Sen. Barack Obama, Rep. Duncan Hunter, Sen. Hillary Clinton, Sen. Sam Brownback, Sen. Chuck Hagel, Sen. Christopher Dodd, Gov. Bill Richardson, Sen. John McCain, and Sen. Joe Biden.
