Safety and Health Guidelines to Follow at NSC’s Congress & Expo

Safety professionals who choose to attend NSC’s Safety Congress & Expo in Orlando, Florida will have guidelines to follow to ensure the safety of all.

The National Safety Council is excited to host their Safety Congress & Expo in Orlando, Florida on October 8 - 14, but there are a few safety guidelines you should be aware of if you are interested in attending the congress in-person this year.

Below are just some of the safety and health measures that NSC will be implementing at the 2021 NSC Safety Congress & Expo this year, according to an update on September 14.

  • COVID-19 vaccines are strongly encouraged, and for those who choose not to share their vaccine status, or are unvaccinated, you will be required to provide a negative COVID test every 24 hours to gain entry to the show.
  • Face Masks will be required
  • Enhanced ventilation practices
  • Regular cleaning protocols
  • Safe distancing practices
  • Limited room capacities
  • Safe traffic flow patterns

In addition to the measures above, NSC will also be partnering with ShareMy.Health, a consumer-directed exchange that locates health records for patrons of a variety of events and gatherings, to provide daily health checks for all attendees. Individuals can manage their information through the ShareMy.Health secure platform, which provide san encrypted digital expository of their health information.

Through your individual profile, you can register your testing results and manage your vaccine uploads. Access to the event will be granted to attendees that meet NSC requirements by visually showing a "green check" on your mobile device.

There will be hotel shuttles to and from the Orange County Convention Center and these will also be adhering to specific health and safety protocols as well. Proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results will be required to ride the shuttles. The bus capacity will be reduced by 50 percent and sanitized after each ride.
