More than a dozen people have been rescued in the last seven days

The Coast Guard is urging caution near waterways after more than a dozen people have been rescued in the last seven days.

Recently, 11 boaters were rescued in Saginaw, Michigan, after the vessels became trapped by ice flows. Above-freezing air temperatures are weakening and melting ice at a fast rate.

The following tips were distributed from the Coast Guard: Remember information, clothing and equipment, always wear a life jacket, never venture out alone, and more.
