OSHA Renews Alliance with Operating Engineers Local 150

The alliance is to train and protect Illinois heavy equipment operators.

OSHA's Apprentice and Skill Improvement Program has renewed an alliance with the Operating Engineers Local 150 in Wilmington, Ill. The two-year alliance will provide information, guidance, and access to training resources for heavy equipment employers and workers.

The initial goal of the alliance was to develop effective training programs for local industry, provide safety seminars and talks, encourage worker participation, and share information on OSHA laws.

According to the agency's news release, OSHA will work with the organization to promote a culture of worker safety and health within the heavy equipment operators' industry through development and sharing of information on the recognition and prevention of workplace hazards.
