Seattle Explosion Injures Nine Firefighters

The natural gas explosion flattened two buildings.

According to a Seattle Times report, a natural gas explosion March 9 injured nine firefighters and flattened two buildings around 1:45 a.m. Pacific Time. A total of 67 employees of the city's fire department were dispatched to the scene.

A local television station reported that a natural gas leak had been reported about 40 minutes before the explosion. Firefighters were searching for the cause of the leak when the explosion occurred, destroying three businesses an heavily damaging a fourth business, according to the report.
