Mega Construction Cited for Failing to Provide Fall Protection Equipment

OSHA issued the company two repeat citations and proposed penalties of $92,400.

OSHA has issued Mega Construction Co. Inc., two repeat citations for failing to provide fall protection equipment, according to the agency's news release. The inspection sites are located in Daphne, Ala.

OSHA said the company failed to provide equipment for employees working from heights up to 9 feet. Proposed penalties are $92,400.

"It is extremely disturbing that, after a dozen inspections and a workplace fatality, Mega Construction continues to violate OSHA's fall protection requirements," said Joseph Roesler, OSHA's area director in Mobile. "Our goal is to use firm, fair and consistent enforcement to ensure voluntary compliance."
