CSB Offering Releases in Spanish

"One of my primary goals as Chairperson of the CSB is to ensure that the agency's knowledge reaches and impacts as many stakeholders as possible. By offering Spanish-language safety products, we are helping to advance that goal," said Vanessa Allen Sutherland, CSB's chairperson.

The U.S. Chemical Safety Board announced a new initiative last week to expand its outreach to Spanish-speaking stakeholders, with agency officials saying CSB will soon offer news releases in Spanish--including releases about the final investigation report into the 2009 explosion and fire at the Caribbean Petroleum terminal facility in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and the 2014 methyl mercaptan release at DuPont's pesticide manufacturing plant in La Porte, Texas.

"The CSB has amassed a tremendous wealth of knowledge on chemical accident hazards through its high quality accident investigations. One of my primary goals as Chairperson of the CSB is to ensure that the agency's knowledge reaches and impacts as many stakeholders as possible. By offering Spanish-language safety products, we are helping to advance that goal," said Vanessa Allen Sutherland, CSB's chairperson.

CSB also plans to offer its safety videos with Spanish subtitles.
