Two CSB Videos Win Awards

"One consistent message that I have heard from stakeholders since arriving to the CSB is the tremendous value that CSB safety videos provide across industries and academic institutions to promote key safety lessons. We are honored to receive this recognition from the local media production community, and I applaud our team for creating such valuable work," said CSB Chairperson Vanessa Allen Sutherland.

Two U.S. Chemical Safety Board videos won awards Nov. 14 at the annual Television, Internet, and Video Association of DC dinner, the agency announced. The winning videos were "Shock to the System," which offers lessons for preventing hydraulic shock in ammonia refrigeration systems and is based on CSB's Millard Refrigerated Services investigation, and "Filling Blind," the computer-generated animation of the Oct. 23, 2009, explosion and fire at the Caribbean Petroleum terminal facility in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

The two videos received silver awards in the Government (under $25,000) category. "One consistent message that I have heard from stakeholders since arriving to the CSB is the tremendous value that CSB safety videos provide across industries and academic institutions to promote key safety lessons.
