No Drones Allowed During Papal Visits

Three U.S. cities will create no drone zones from Sept. 22 through Sept. 27.

The Federal Aviation Administration is reminding residents and visitors in Washington, D.C., New York, and Philadelphia that during the papal visits this week in those cities, no drone zones will be established.

Flying a drone anywhere during one of Pope Francis' visits is against the law and may result in criminal or civil charges, according to the agency's announcement, and this includes radio-controlled model aircraft.

A digital message from the FAA, as well as No Drone Zone graphics and audio soundbites from FAA Administrator Michael Huerta are available here.
