MH 370 Search Almost Half Done
More than 24,000 square kilometers of the priority zone have been searched, according to the Australian Transport Safety Bureau's report.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau reported Feb. 18 that about 40 percent of the priority search area for missing airliner MH 370 has been searched, still with no confirmed sighting of the aircraft. One ship, the GO Phoenix, continues to conduct underwater search operations. Another, the Fugro Equator, left the search area Feb. 11 for resupply, as did two other vessels close to that date, Fugro Discovery and Fugro Supporter.
More than 24,000 square kilometers of the priority zone have been searched, according to its report.
If no other significant delays with vessels, equipment, or from the weather occur, the current underwater search area may be completed around May 2015, according to ATSB.
