Red Cross Disaster Apps Aplenty

Flood, tornado, hurricane, first aid, swimming safety – you'll want to download them all.

The American Red Cross posted a listed of its disaster safety apps – and it's a long list. Severe weather of all sorts, earthquakes, first aid, wildfires, swimming safety – ARC apps cover all of it. There's even one for pets' safety during disaster situations.

ARC said its natural disaster apps "provide expert, emergency information when and where you need it."

The flood app provides step-by-step instructions on what to do if flooding threatens, even if the cell towers and television are out. The tornado app signals when a NOAA tornado warning has been issued. The hurricane app lets users receive weather alerts and provides information on Red Cross shelters, as does the earthquake app.

Visit this page to find out more about them. They're available at the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
