Organic Mangoes Recalled for Possible Listeria
Pacific Organic Produce has recalled certain organic mangoes sold between April 14 and May 2.
Pacific Organic Produce, based in San Francisco, has recalled various cases of organic Tommy Atkins mangoes (part of the "Purity Organic" brand) that sold between April 14 and May 20, Food Safety News reports. The fruit has been recalled for possible listeria contamination, although no illnesses have been reported yet.
The mangoes were distributed in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Jersey, and Texas in mid-April. The recalled cases contained the PLU numbers 94051 and 94959, which is printed on the sticker on the fruit.
According to Food Safety News, the precaution is being taken due to an FDA test that produced a sample that tested positive for listeria.
