OSHA to Hold Meeting of NACOSH Temp Worker Workgroup

OSHA announced the May 9 meeting is taking place at its headquarters in Washington, D.C.

OSHA announced it has scheduled a meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health's Temporary Worker workgroup. The meeting will be held from 2-4 p.m. on May 9 in Washington, D.C., at the U.S. Department of Labor headquarters on Constitution Avenue.

The NACOSH worker group was established under the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1970 to "advise the secretaries of labor and health and human services on occupational safety and health programs and policies." The Temporary Worker workgroup regularly meets to discuss issues relating to temporary workers, such as gaps in protection, the differences between temporary workers and contract workers, and joint responsibility of host employers and staffing agencies. The group's most recent meeting was held in February 2014.

Workgroup members can attend the meeting either in person or via teleconference, while members of the public must attend in person in order to listen to the meeting.
