BSEE's FY2015 Budget Request Totals $204.6 Million

The amount will be offset by $123.6 million in BSEE collections.

President Obama's FY2015 budget request for the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement is $204.6 million, which is $2 million above the agency's 2014 enacted level.

"The president's 2015 request lays a strong foundation for a sustainable regulatory program and provides the infrastructure necessary to ensure offshore oil and gas activities are conducted safely and in an environmentally responsible manner," BSEE Director Brian Salerno said, adding that the requested amount "will enhance our ability to keep pace with a dynamic industry as operators continue to pursue new and emerging technologies that enable them to develop our nation's energy resources in deeper water and frontier areas."

The amount will be offset by $123.6 million in BSEE collections, including $65 million from inspection fees, $50.4 million from rental receipts, and $8.2 million from cost recovery fees, according to the agency.
