Purse Designer's Corporate Office and Showroom Cited

OSHA issued $77,000 in fines to Rebecca Minkoff for allegedly breaking several safety rules.

OSHA has issued over $77,000 in fines to purse, accessories, and apparel designer Rebecca Minkoff for allegedly having several willful and serious violations at the retailer's corporate office and showroom, according to a press release from OSHA. The hazardous conditions come as a result of an inspection done following worker complaints.

The office and showroom, located at 33 W. 17th St. in Manhattan, received one willful fine of $70,000 for obstructing a fire exit and one serious citation ($7,000) for slip, trip, and fall hazards.

After doing the inspection, OSHA found that the offices and showroom space were overcrowded with boxes, workstations, chairs, and equipment, making the path to the fire exit inaccessible.
