Extra NSC Thrills: Transformers 4 Filming This Weekend

Several downtown street closures will take place, including on Wacker Drive, as the shooting takes place around the 111 S. Wacker Drive building, The Chicago Tribune's Luis Gomez reported.

Exhibitors and attendees gathering in downtown Chicago for next week's 2013 National Safety Congress & Expo may run into roadblocks associated with the filming of the movie known as Transformers 4. The actual name is "Transformers: Age of Extinction," and its stars include Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Jack Reynor, and Han Geng. Michael Bay is directing.

Photos of Geng and some of the stylish vehicles used in the film are featured on the movie's Facebook page.

The Chicago Tribune's Luis Gomez reported filming will take place from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday around the 51-story 111 S. Wacker Drive building. Nearby businesses received a letter saying live stunts and large pyrotechnics will be used during this time, and Gomez reported these street closures will be in effect: Wacker Drive from Washington to Adams, Franklin Street from Madison to Adams, Monroe Street from Canal to Franklin, and Madison Street from Canal to Franklin.
