IOSH Members Elect New Council Representatives

There are 12 new members on the council, the elected body representing the IOSH membership.

Members of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) have elected 12 new members to the organization's council, which holds the Board of Trustees accountable for its performance against key responsibilities on behalf of members and debates key strategic, professional, and policy issues.

A total of 3,997 members, about 10 percent of the membership, voted in this election.

The winning candidates include Dr. Karen McDonnell, head of RoSPA Scotland (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents); Roy Featherstone, a consultant and Chartered Fellow of IOSH who was safety advisor for the Velodrome, basketball arena, and BMX track during the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics; Dr. Ioannis Toutoungi, construction safety and health manager for Gatwidk Airport; and Dr. Peter J. Claffey, deputy assistant chief executive for the Health and Safety Authority of Ireland.
