OSHA Fines New Jersey Laundry Company

After OSHA investigated the facility in October, nine violations were discovered.

OSHA has cited Prestige Industries LLC in North Bergen, N.J., which received $219,000 in penalties in connection with four alleged repeat and five serious violations at the laundry company in October.

The repeat violations ranged from unguarded machinery to a lack of energy control training for employees among other things and carried penalties of $185,000. The serious violations dealt with electrical hazard at the facility.

"The safety hazards present at this facility pose serious risks to workers and must be immediately corrected," said Kris Hoffman, director of OSHA's Parsippany Area Office, on the OSHA website. "OSHA will continue to hold employers legally accountable when they fail to provide safe workplaces."
