Itar-Tass reports the body temperature of passengers arriving from China is being measured at border checkpoints.

Russian health authorities at border checkpoints are checking the body temperature of people coming into the country for China and is warning Russian tourists about the A/H7N9 bird flu, the Itar-Tass news agency reported April 15. Airline crews are being taught how to measure temperatures, and tour operators will be informed about the flu, the agency reported.

The agency's report said a conference will be held to consider how to prevent bird flu from spreading into Russia. "Sanitary control is established at the border checkpoints with monitoring of body temperature of each of the people who arrive from China. A total of more than 2,200 passengers from 26 airliners from Beijing and Manzhouli passed through the control points. No illnesses suspected as bird flu were detected among the people," according to its report.
