Construction Partnership Set for Georgia Tech Biomed Building
The signing ceremony will take place Dec. 18 at the site in Atlanta.
OSHA, McCarthy Building Cos. Inc., and the Georgia Tech Research Institute's On-site Consultation Services Program have agreed to partner to ensure effective safety and health protections are in use during the construction of the Georgia Tech Engineered Biosystems Building, a planned building at the school for which $59 million in state bond funding for construction have been requested in 2013. Another $34 million in funds from Georgia Tech and private donors will be used to leverage the requested bond funding.
The partnership signing ceremony will take place Dec. 18 at the construction site, at the corner of State and 10th Streets in Atlanta. When completed, the building will offer 200,000 square feet of research space to accommodate expansion of Georgia Tech's biomedical research.
McCarthy is an employee-owned construction company, based in St. Louis, that ranks about the largest U.S. commercial builders with more than $2.4 billion in annual revenues, according to information available on its website.
