Three Pilots Killed in Plane Crash Traveling to Safety Conference
The pilots were killed when the single engine plane they were flying crashed into a Mississippi home.
Three pilots were killed in Mississippi after crashing a small airplane Tuesday afternoon en route to a Federal Aviation Administration safety conference.
The owner of the plane was not in it at the time of the crash. However, the three passengers were all trained and licensed pilots. The convention they were attending was only 30 miles away from their take-off point.
One of the men issued a request to return to the airport, but minutes after that, the plane crashed into trees and then into a house, which caught fire.
The plane took off from an airport in Raymond, Miss. around 5 p.m. and was only in the air a few minutes. The owner of the plane said that his plane was in mint condition.
The FAA will be investigating the crash in conjunction with the National Transportation Safety Board.
